Jenny was going on a business trip. It was her first real time away from home and she was very excited - she was still living with her parents. While she was packing she remembered a gift from her parents that at the time she received it looked like a joke. It was a Door Stop Alarm. "Now what would I do with this?" she thought. So like most other presents that we receive that we dont want she put it away in her closet. As she was packing her father asked her to take the Door Stop Alarm with her. But Dad Ill be staying in a hotel room with a strong door. Why would I need to take this thing with me?" "Just humor your old man OK" her father said. "You can never be too careful". But Jenny thought that it would be a waste of time and didnt put the alarm in her suitcase.
When she checked into her hotel room and began unpacking she discovered that her father secretly put the Door Stop Alarm into her luggage. She was furious - how dare he! Didnt she tell her father that she would be OK? Why did he have to interfere? She promised to tell him a thing or two when she got home. Just to show Dad that his gift was useless she decided to put it in front of her door that night. "That way I can tell him that I tried it even though I didnt need it" she thought. Well it turned out that Jenny DID need the Door Stop Alarm that night because while everyone was asleep there was a storm that knocked out all the electricity for the hotel.

They are also aesthetically pleasing since they are small and more hidden. Hook Stops These are commonly referred to as "hinge stops" because they are a floor-mounted door stop that has a hook-and-eye design. These are a multi-purpose item since they stop a door from opening too far as well as keep a door open. They are great for standard to moderately-heavy doors. Domes Dome door stops are popular because they are inexpensive modern-looking and modest. They are a dome-shaped cylindrical door stop with a rubber exterior and they operate similar to baseboard springs. They come in all sorts of finishes and styles allowing you to blend your device into your baseboards or doors or add some character with a stylish variation. Their downfall is they are not compatible with concrete or hardwood floors. Flip Downs Flip down or "kick down" door stops are just like the kickstand on your childhood bicycle. When they are needed to stop a door from opening or closing they manually flip down into place. When they are not being used they can be manually flipped back up against the wall or baseboard.
